MOOD BOARDS

Collected visual inspiration

  • Find as much visual information about a specific subject as possible and cram as many interesting images as you can onto a page no smaller than A3 so that they remain at a useful and readable size. (We sometime use a whole wall in a studio and cover it from floor to ceiling!)
  • Do not include any written information or words (unless you are looking at specific lettering or typographic forms for inspiration)
  • Use different methods of selecting and combining the visual information from the sheet to help inspire new solutions.

(Use a view finder cut from card, or an old slide frame to isolate part of an image or part of a mood board to draw and develop or add into your design.)
